I just found out that Paul Allen's ME-109E model with DB engine flew on Saturday. It was one of Craig Charleston's recreations. Steve Hinton did the first test flight. Can anyone in the POF or Seattle camp give any more details?

Great News! Im still interested to see this aircraft and the Russel Group's Me-109 fly together, but due to the logistics and distance it doesnt seem like that may happen anytime soon.

It would appear then, that Mr. Allens platoons of lawyers finally prevailed upon the engine rebuilder to address the leaking freeze plug issues that have kept the aircraft grounded.
Can't wait to hear the engine from my front yard when I'm doing yard work (KPAE is less than 5 minutes drive from my front door)on the weekends I can't be there. :D

Here are some pics of the Hurricane and Bf flying day. The Bf had tailwheel problems, that is why it is removed in some of the pictures. Steve Hinton, Bud Granley and John Penney were doing the flying and the collection is now in the process of being moved to KPAE (it is presently at AWO). I threw in some other shots of the Mustang, P-40, Spit, Zero, and others for you. I have many more if you all would like to see them. Thanks to a friend for the pics. Lynn, the Sea Fury is when Jerry owned it and it flew as "Cottonmouth II". IMHO, it is the sexiest, most beautiful scheme to ever appear on a Sea Fury - original or not (although I do have a small personal bias  ).
