Since the general opinion seemed to be leading to the style that the board was in version 2, I installed the old 'subsilver' template for WIX 2.0 into the 3.0 board... so things should be a bit more familiar for people.

Let me know if this is OK to everyone... I think the contrast and ease of use issues will be resolved with this change.

Thanks,
Ryan

Many thanks Scott and Ryan.... it's got quite a different feel to it, but I like the new bells and whistles a lot. THANKS so much for all the hard work Scott... I very much appreciate everything you've done for us, as I am sure do we all!

Cheers,
Richard

To Scott, Ryan and all that make WIX great. I know I am the smallest of small wheels on here, and so far away from where the action is, but that for me is what makes this site so great. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do. It's maybe strange, but I feel at home almost here. I have been through some tough times in the past couple of years, and WIX is always here to take my mind off things. I really enjoy browsing this site , especially as there is no one nearby to share my interest in warbirds and historic aviation with. Once again thankyou, your time and effort is much appreciated.

I like that idea! Thanks for the hard work. This is going much smoother than some other forum moves that I have been through...well done!

I'd say it's looking good. Also like the new forum logo on the top left!

Scott......You are owed many a beer! Great job and looking good.

I have a very, very few suggestions. Please do not take them as criticism as they are by far not!

First, do you think you can segregate on the front page the stickies in a separate section? I like the announcements and the topics, but do you think you can add a bar for the stickies too? It would just make it easier on the eyes when you want to quickly tag the site to see what is happening!

Second, is the plan to add a link on the index site to get you to the registry and the rest of the Warbirds Resource Group stuff? I have always had the bookmark on the index page and then just jumped to where I wanted to go!

Lastly....This may have already been resolved, but....I really like when I tagged a link it opened in a new window. Is that mod coming or is that an option to be found on the site that someone needs to tell me where to look?

Again, owe you so many beers at this point I guess it a lot of us would be drunk! Keep up the great work, and I will buy when I finally cross paths with you.

Many thanks!

Dave Hackett

Thanks, I appreciate the comments. One of the main reasons I started this board was because I knew no one, with the exception of my father, who was into world war II aviation or warbirds. I knew it was popular because look at the attendance at airshows and I always found pictures on the internet. Those pictures were the final straw. I attended the Gathering of Mustangs in Kissimee back in 99 and took alot of pictures. I went online and found even more from the gathering... taken only a few degrees away from where I was. I pondered the social aspects of our hobby and realized there really was none. I went looking for it and found the Warbirds Worldwide forum. I was home! And three days later it ceased operation. So a quite software cludge and I added a forum to my existing site, warbirdsresourcegroup.org, and away we went. If you want to see where we started visit http://archive.warbirdinformationexchange.org/

Bear with me over the next few days folks... I am trying out the steps to add advertising back to the forum... as a way to keep things running smooth. There may be some odd ad placements and whatnot, so again, bear with me as I tweek things.

Thanks!
Ryan

Just noticed that links in posts do not open a new page anymore the way they used to in the previous version of the forum. Can this be fixed?

Probably so, I'd guess, but in the meantime just right click and select "Open in new window" (or new tab, if you are using a superior browser like Firefox or IE 8 ).
