Yeah, I am having trouble searching too. Let's say I try something like, ummm... B-29, I should get a million hits but instead I don't get anything. :(

Also I am having trouble using the emoticons under "View more smilies" page.....

Just FYI but I got an E-mail today that something had been posted here!

Good news!

Rebuilding the search index has proven problematic and time consuming, but it will be accomplished! I'll look into the smiley problem when I get a chance.

Shouldn't the Amazon ad in the corner be trying to sell me aviation books, instead of Star Trek and Harry Potter DVDs?

Yeah, the Amazon Affiliates network has a bit of work to do on the algorithm that determines the content context... so my project for next week is to build a keyword list for WIX default ads on Amazon. I know they are a bit of an eyesore right now, and I am working on the format... but any sales goes a long way to support the hosting fund as well as the potential development of the Registry... which is going slower than I anticipated.

I just made a small donation towards WIX. Not much but I have been trying to give WIX a few bucks each month.

The more they get the more updates we get. Everyday is like getting handed a new warbird mag. But it comes free to us. At lest we can do is support the site. Think about it.

Thanks,
Nathan

How does that work on the Amazon links? What if I click on a book that is there, but not the one I want. How can I place an order and know that it will be benefitting WIX? I didn't see any kind of special directive on the page.

You can click on any amazon link on the site to bring you to Amazon, then navigate from there. After you use the link from here to get there, ANYTHING you purchase will benefit the site, not just the items listed in the links.

Under the old WIX when you left the site the topics not read were marked as read and only new posts were in yellow, now I have over ten pages of unread posts, is there something I can do to fix this?

I just learned this last night... as I was in the same boat. After you get done reading what you want to read (assuming you are not wanting to mark any for later), look for the link on the right side of the topic listings for a forum, right above the dark blue bar that says "Mark Topics Read" and it will clear all the highlighting for the topics within that specific forum so the next time you login, only the topics with new posts will be highlighted. You can also do this from the forum listing by looking in the same place for "Mark Forum Read" and it will do essentially the same thing. This way YOU have control over what has been read and the expiration of a cookie doesn't clear the highlight until you do it. It actually is a lot more handy than the old way.
