It's a little early, but who else is going?
Just looking forward to the first/only show of the season I get to attend as a civilian...
It looks like I'll be heading over on Thursday and staying through Saturday or Sunday depending on the WX. Calling Camp Scholler Home for the 20somethingth year....
Sure wish I had been into photography at 8 years old..

I also want to say how much I like the "newer" EAA membership option hooks me up with Warbirds, and saves them from sending me a lightly read Sport Aviation, for only $10 more than the standard EAA membership.
It is also good to see that they found a way to bring in the Li-2 from Russia and have the Helldiver signed up to attend!!!

Seeing as I'm a 30-minute drive from OSH, I suppose it would be a fair guess to say I'll be attending. The Helldiver was listed last year as well, but was a no-show. Hope I'm wrong for 2004--plus don't forget the TP-40N, Melton's P-47, Dieckman F4U, and a few goodies from LSFM (and maybe, just maybe, something that begins with the letters "Me-###").

C'mon guys...the burgers are big, and I can't drink all the beer myself...who else can join us?

Sport Aviation magazine has turned into real crap. It used to be about making stuff (craftsmanship) and people doing things. Now it is about bolting together kit airplanes, social relationships, and the promotion of advertisers. It is now very friendly and touchy-feely, with very little useful information.

Heh, don't be modest, I'm sure you can drink it all... or die trying

I'll be there in the WW2 Living History area from Monday, July 26 right on through the week. I hope I'll have a chance to meet some of you guys!

There may be 2 P-47D T-Bolts this year at Oshkosh, Neal Melton and John Shoffner, and Ray in his Corsair. That is the plan we are talking about right now. The P-47's would stay for one day maybe 2 at the most.

After talking with Greg Herrick on Saturday, I think I'll have to try and make 2004 the year of my return to Oshkosh. The plan is to have the Bushmaster 2000, Stinson SM-6000, Stinson A, Ford 4-AT, and Krutzer K-5 fly a 5 tri-motor formation in the showcase. If the EAA and CAF will join in with the 4-AT and JU-52, we could see a 7 tri-motor formation.

If I make it, I'll probably be there on Saturday July 31. I plan on finding some sort of lodgings this year. I went in 2000 and made a day trip out of it, 300 miles each way, but it was worth it for the F2G alone even though Bob Odegaard did bring it to South St. Paul the next weekend(about 260 miles closer to home).

Considering we've only had about 5 clear/sunny/dry days all spring, and all the river are at flood - definitely start hoping for a week of good weather!

and Mint - can we park the P-47's on the grass (provided it's dry, of course)? hard ramp space is at a premium these days...

The grass is going to have to really dry and hard, we can not have the 2 P-47's pulled out. We will see with time, and weather.
