Who: Jenn & Zack Baughman and as many of you as possible
What: 5th Annual AirVenture WIX Gathering & BBQ/Cookout
When: 6pm, Thursday, July 29
Where: 1919 W. Waukau Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902
**** Please RSVP to zbaughman@eaa.org by Monday, July 19 (although we won't turn you away if you just show up)

Details:
My wife Jenn and I will be hosting the 5th Annual WIX Gathering BBQ/Cookout at our place during AirVenture. We'll supply all kinds of food and beverage, but anyone who wants to bring something extra is more than welcome. Fair warning to all - this is WI, so you can expect a healthy (or unhealthy if you like) dose of meat and cheese. We'll try and have some salad for those who prefer a bit lighter fare. I don't expect Dan K. to bring dozens of tables and chairs as he has in the past (THANKS DAN!!!), so if you have a spare chair to bring, please do.

The house is located at 1919 W. Waukau Ave, which is at the southeast corner of Poberezny Rd and Waukau Ave, right on the edge of the EAA campground and within close walking distance of the Museum. Waukau Ave leads straight down to the FAA control tower. The "Welcome WIXers" P-47 banner will be out in the front yard, so you should be able to find the house fairly easily.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to come, just try to let me know ahead of time so we can make sure to prepare enough food.

Zack

I will be there with Joe, Clair, and Amanda. Can't wait. Who knows what adventures wait this year. Will we hit road cones on the way to the Beer Tent? Will we fit 8 wixers into a car again? Will Al turn the inside of the car into a dance club again? Only time will tell.

My wife, Bernadette, and I will be at Oshkosh this year and have put it on or “Must Do” list. We are Oshkosh virgins so take it easy

Cheers,

Eric

Hi Zack! I'm an Oshkosh "semi-virgin". I was there 15 years ago for one day! But it was the day of the HUGE warbird flyby. Wish I would've had a video camera.
Well, as luck would have it, I've illustrated a children's book written by the late air show pilot Bill Barber. The book was written by his widow Elaine. If you've heard of the Bill Barber showmanship award, that's the right guy! It is called "Billy's First Flight Lesson". Our book came out last week and we are signing and selling the book in the EAA Author's Corner July 28-29 in the middle of the day (I'll get the times). This really is a dream come true! So even though I'm mostly a "lurker" I would like to try to attend your barbeque! I have met some WIXers at TOM which I volunteer at every year. I am just sooooo excited! So put me down and I'll really make it a point to attend. If I don't, I wish you all a very special happy, full of beer, time! :drinkers: And if any of you have little ones or grand kids, I'll even bring a few books to sign and sell too.
Take care,
Linda

Susan and I will not make the gathering as we will be heading back to Dayton Thursday morning. Wish we could join you! We will be around however Saturday-Thursday so maybe we can hook up at some point.

Just a reminder to please send an RSVP to zbaughman@eaa.org if you are planning on attending the WIX cookout/bbq during AirVenture so that I can get a somewhat accurate head count for food and drink. Thanks!

Zack

Thanks Zach. Since I'm flying up, the weather will dictate what days I'll be at KOSH. If I'm there Thurs, count me in.

Zach, I hope to attend. Just talked to my dad and he says the airport is swamped and they don't even have places for aircraft and auto parking because of the field conditions. Any advice on when to come up?
John
