The Alamo Liaison Squadron would like to invite you to our fall fly-in on October 16th. This fall we are celebrating the fact that we are now officially listed in the AF/D as a public-use airport. Note that the current San Antonio sectional still shows us as a private field. The new identifier is 53T. We're just southwest of Stinson Municipal Airport on the southwest corner or the intersection of Loop 1604 and Applewhite Road.
Anyone that can get their aircraft in to Cannon Field is welcome to attend. We'll have some food, vintage military aircraft, and hopefully a theater running as well. This fly-in will be more informal than our annual Bluebonnet Picnic in the spring and should be lots of fun.

Here's a photo of the airstrip:

Thanks. We'll miss Tiny's presence. I don't think we're having it catered this time, so probably no Bill Millers for me, but I will think of you next time I have occasion.

So do any of the aircraft code experts know what unit that B-24's with and where it might possibly be? Pretty hard to tell on the L-4.

I'm not sure what group that B-24 is with...in my limited knowledge and references I don't find a vertical stripe with an M in it. I see horizontal stripes with M's.

Interesting...maybe someone has more information.

Good shot though!

BTW, I'm thinking I'll have a Cub available for "Discovery Flights" if anyone is interested...

Anyone in the San Antonio vicinity next Saturday really out to consider coming out. We spent the day cleaning up the field and getting ready for our fly-in.

The grass is green and you can really feel like you just stepped back a bit in time...

I took this shot of our L-5 this morning.

That looks great, Ryan!

I am trying to get one of my brothers to come out to the field on Saturday.., if I can pull him away from his fishing house at Port O'Conner! I may lose this battle!

Wish me luck
