Calling All War Birds ! Fly By USS Iowa Sunday May 20th. 1530-1600 Hrs. 2012 ! Where: Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco,CA. USS Iowa departs Nor Cal. for the last time. The battleship USS IOWA accompanied by the SS Jeremiah O 'Brien will be sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge at 1530-1600hrs. dependent on fog and any other technical hick ups that may occur. There will be many photographers and vidiographers capturing this historic occasion. You and your War Bird can now be immortalized by participating in this once in a lifetime event. Please help us in giving this storied ship the send off it deserves. I am a friend of the Pacific Battleship Center and Military Vehicle Technology Foundation. We need advice as to whether to contact the FAA for permission to do fly by s at low altitude. It is my understanding that this is not a TCA nor a restricted flying area. However for best photo opportunities there may be a restriction on how low you can go. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
