Here is the text from a letter we have drafted after our latest planning meeting. Still looking for all prior NAS A/C but participation will be as static display only. Please feel free to disseminate as widely as possible to anyone that might be interested and have them contact me. Thanks for any assistance!
Calling all “Warbird” Owner/Operators!Naval Air Station Pensacola is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year at the Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow November 7-9, 2014. In honor of the 100th Anniversary, NAS Pensacola is attempting to assemble a static display line-up of aircraft that have been stationed here since 1914.
Unfortunately, due to recent sequestration and other ongoing funding issues, the 2014 airshow budget is quite limited. Accordingly, airshow coordinators are looking for pilots/aircraft owners willing to participate with minimal overhead cost requirements.
The list of requested aircraft is as follows:
-Curtiss Pusher -F9F Panther -TA-4 Skyhawk
-Curtiss JN-4 Jenny -TO/TV/T-33 Shooting Star -T2 Buckeye
-N3N -PBY Catalina -T2V (T-1) Seastar
-N2S -F6F Hellcat -GB Traveller (Beech Model 17)
-SNJ Texan -F8F Bearcat -AD Skyraider
-T-28 Trojan -C-45 Navigator -T-1 Pinto
-T-34 Mentor -SNV Valiant -TF-9J Cougar
Come be a part of history as we celebrate NAS Pensacola's Centennial at this year's air show!
If you or someone you know owns one of these magnificent aircraft and is interested in helping us celebrate 100 years of Pensacola Naval Aviation history, please contact our Warbird coordinator:
