Your mission, if you choose to accept it.... AAA

Sun May 27, 2007 7:02 am

I am looking for pictures and information on Anti Aircraft Artillery (AAA) of all types from 1930-1960. From Heavy Machines guns to and cannons to vehicles. If it was designed or adapted for use to shoot down aircraft I want to see it. All countries are welcome for this new section. If someone would like to become an associate editor in charge of this section give me a PM and we can discuss it.

If your wondering why develope a anti-Aircraft section, well by understanding the opposition you can more fully appreciate what the pilots and aircrews of WWII and Korea went through.

A good place to start would be to photograph the AAA pieces displayed at Fort Bliss, TX since it's the home of the Army's Air Defense Artillery. I've never been there myself but I've heard they have some nice items on display throughout the post.

One of the guys in our unit knows a fellow that owns a 40mm Bofors gun. We have it on display every year at Reading WWII weekend. It's WWII dated as far as I know. I know I have some pics laying around from the last few years it's been there.
