Gang, (Finally) There's a NEW WW2 8th Air Force Flight Gear, Uniforms & Photos Book. It's Called "8TH AIR FORCE American Heavy Bomber Groups in England, 1942-45". It's Written by Gregory Pons & Published by "Histoire & Collections". It's pretty good & well worth the $26. It has lots of excellent, full color photos of WW2 AAF Flight Gear, Jackets & Clothing.
Here's a few shots from the book:

There's also lots of Rare WW2 AAF photos. Most I've never seen before, like these:

I consider this a "Must Have" book for any WW2 AAF Collector, Reenactor, Historian, Etc. I got mine for $26 from www.a1books.com It's probably available from other sources too... Digger

is this book more a history of 8th AAF or is it indeed a book purely of flightgear?

It's not a Roger A. Freeman style book, nor a John A. Maguire style book either.
It's a "little of each" in a Scrapbook format that's really cool.
Definately worth the $26...
"Histoire & Collections" has other great titles too!! Here's the Website:

None other than Jon Gawne has raving reviews of this book. That’s all I need to know. Now, where’s that credit card?...
