I've been a fan of the F-100 ever since I saw one in the mid-1950s make a low approach just over the England AFB runway, and zoom vertical above the dazzled crowds below. Naturally, I had to build a model of one. It was a Revell, circa 1955.

Since that was 50 years ago, I have of course lost the model. But its Buzz Number sticks in my mind: I think it was FW-452, but in my research I can't confirm that fact.

Can anyone out there help?

I'm still building a brief history and photo gallery of the F-100 ... my current knowledge recap is posted here ...

Anyone else very quickly skim the title and wonder what a Focke-Wulf 452 was?
