I'm in the process of getting ready to build a model train layout which will take place in Tennessee in 1943, same time as the maneuvers. The valley I'm representing was under the flight path of the 101st on their way to that drop. My Dad, as a little kid, saw glider formations going overhead there.
I badly want to model a Waco CG-4 in a semi-landed position, representing a misdrop and as a nod to what Dad saw that day.
Does anyone make a 1/48 scale model of one? I have searched but have turned up with nothing so far other than the 1/72 ones...

You are modeling trains in 1/48 scale? (O scale) Cool! I have never heard of that. The Testors 1/72 fits real nice with the 1/76 (00 scale) model. Good luck. Sanger is about it for 1/48 Waco Gliders. Same with the British Horsa glider. The US did use Horsa gliders but your problem is the same.
Except for Sanger none in 1/48.
