Awhile back, I happened on the Dembrudders.com modeling website.
It's written by two Utah brothers who are longtime builders, kit historians and IPMS members.
Occasionally, they produce a YouTube review of a kit, so far they have done some on the recent Atlantis reissues of classic Aurora, Monogram and Revell kits.
They just posted a lighthearted review of the seldom seen 18 aircraft U.S. Air Force
Air Power Set that was released by Monogram...once...in 1959. (Monogram later reissued the B-47/KC-135 duo and some of the fighters as low cost sets a few years later).

I can see several reasons why it was never redone...the age of many of the aircraft (the F-84F, F-86F, F-89 and especially, the F-94C were at the end of their active duty careers in '58...in fact, the F-94 left the ANG inventory that summer) and the fact that due to its subject and small scale, there might not be a lot of interest in it overseas, plus the large stand, 18 special stand wires and huge decal sheet all of which made it very costly in '59, would work against its reissue. So, it's
possible that the kit wasn't re-issued because of cost or marketing issues rather than the loss of the molds. Maybe.
