Here's an update from Pemberton and Sons Aviation on their Boeing 40C-4 project.
It's on its gear and wing assembly will begin after the new year when the project is in its new purpose-built hangar. The wing parts have been fabricated, they "just" need to be put together.
Addison Pemberton reports the plane should be flying within two years.

The Pembertons are great people, I've really enjoyed the opportunity to work on this project. The Boeing 40 has long been a favorite of mine and with the two known survivors being locked up in museums, I never thought I'd see one fly. The plane being rebuilt (C-5339, C/ns 1043) crashed in 1928 shortly after entering service.
After spending 60+ years on a mountain in Oregon you can imagine the state of the airframe, but Addison has put his heart into this project and it's going to be completed (and flying) soon.

Their home page (with shots of their other completed projects...a Staggerwing, Stearman mail plane, highly modified PT-17, and Super Cub) is at:
