Howdy bakatcha' O.P. and Tom !
Glad ya' liked the movies. There is a suggested explanation of the float
damage at the parent site of the previous link..Scroll to bottom of the
page, "Seabee at the movies". They say the float was damaged prior,
which necessitated the "on-step" landing to the beach...good "bad-luck"...

I don't think it was damaged that bad..I think it was a "planned burn"!
The production co. owned the Seabee and shipped it in... Sick puppies!!!
There is a 320 hp, LS-1 Corvette powered Seabee in the Classified section
of the parent site...

O.P.,
...."the best American Motors had to offer" ??...Suh! I take offense!!! The
Greatest AMC product, was the 1968-70 AMX ! The Craig Breedlove
debut of the AMX breaking records! This page has a Bonneville sound-byte
when it opens...Crank-up the volume and the "surround sound"..(listen for
the vinyl-recording "pops and clicks" at the end.)...

The VERY AGGRESSIVE.... AMX Trans-Am 68-72 Racing period,
www.amx-perience.com/Trans-AmRacing.htm
The Quarter Mile cars did very well also..and the factory had a VERY
ambitious options list for the Road Racer and 1/4 Miler Cars.
GOOD DAY SIR...(s) !!!!
( read as...appalled indignation ala, Gene Wilder.."Young Frankenstein"! )
