An amazing project! It would be nice if the finished product made a few stops here in the US before heading overseas.

I am hopeful we will see it tour a couple of spots in the U.S. before the flight back overseas. Would be nice to see it make Oshkosh in either 2014 or 2015 where it would be a real highlight.

On Oct. 28th I referenced the same link on the prior page of this thread. But no sweat, good to keep the thread going, and it will be great to see this airplane in the air.

Do we know whats going to happen to the "parts connie"? Looks like she could be a candidate to fly as well. A shame they don't want two!

Well that is true for all intents and purposes since it's probably on par with a B-29. Four Wright 3350s. Huge aircraft. Need a crew to operate. Gas and fuel.

But… bada$$ as f%$@!

It was here, by David Williamson. There are two almost identical posts & are somewhat garbled, but we managed to get to the bottom of it eventually :)

Updated cockpit including an avionics suite from the C-130. Amazing detail in this restoration.

I know it's certainly the best choice to have modern avionics, as they plan to fly very ofter this plane, not only in very nice weather to go to an airshow at the nearest airport.

But on a visual question, I find that a original/stock panel would have been so nice.

Lufthansa has lost a giant oppurnity to showcase the restoration instead we see typical European formula one like secrecy.
