Yes, I noted that too, although I was wondering if the mount were for something else. Date of photo needed.

I suspect what we're looking at are modern pics made into period-looking ads and I for one think they are great.

If that 140 panel ad is period, where did the semi modern (1970's) nav/comm stack come from? Should be a 2 crystal NARCO AVIGATOR shouldn't it?
And the CURTISS ROBIN looks like a super realistic painting given the 'fun house mirrors' reflections on the prop blades.
