Never a master of tact, Don Luscombe was well known for not mincing words, with his strong opinions. One of the most Classic letters from Don Luscombe (having just left Monocoupe Corporation and establishing his own Luscombe Company in 1933) to Waco President, Clayton Brukner,
starts out.."you are not only a dumbbell, but little better than a theif.."
in the scathing 1933 letter about his ire at the newly appointed Eugene Vidal (author Gore's father) who became Director of Aeronuatics in Washington DC, in 1933, he also opines that the newly appointed Director's "assinine Questionaire should cost Vidal his job."
The historical content is all the more rich, since the file copy of Brukner's response letter is attached.
You can almost envision the veins bulging in Don's neck as he wrote this classic
