This is outside of my normal research of WWII aircraft crash sites.
How do you do research on post WWII U.S. crash information? This is what I know: a helicopter crashed (on or about) May 16th 1970 in the Wrangell Mountains, Alaska. The Pilot was Mike Tinker. The wreckage was reported by a volunteer search pilot Wednesday, May 20th 1970 through the Alaska Air Command rescue coordination center. The wreckage was spotted in mountainous terrain about 15 miles east of Fairbanks and 25 miles west of the Canadian boarder. The flight was from Chisana to Coral Creek, Alaska. The pilot and two passengers were killed.
That's all I know. Where can I find more details: type of aircraft, registration number, accident report, investigation details, etc.
