And maybe my favorite photo from the trip, somewhere in the American Midwest...

Nice shot Baldeagle!! Also enjoyed the previous page photos of the trip and the visit to his descendants and home strip of the 30's.

I'm pretty sure I ran into you guys at Jasper County Indiana on our way home from Oshkosh. It would have been Friday morning. The county fair was going on just across the street from the airport. We were in my white/yellow RV-6.

Small world...

I was at Brodhead in the Yellow Chipmunk!

Those are some great shots from your trip. Good for you!

That’s very classy of you to take it by for the family to see. An airplane they only knew from stories and maybe a blurry black and white photo handed down.

Thanks for the kind words, and recently the granddaughter went through the old family albums and found more than a few photos of old '9079. Here are photos of the photos, she is planning to make good scans of them eventually.

Note the different fuselage stripe from the earlier photos. One of the inspection reports notes fabric on the fuselage being in poor condition, it was probably recovered already after only about 7 years, normal for those days.

I had a good year with Miss Marianna, flew it about 115 hours, did shows in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana, and got to Oshkosh.

Youngest passenger was 3 year old Gracie at Portland, Indiana, who went with her mom. Here Gracie shows how she liked her flight:

Oldest passenger was Bill from here in Virginia, who had just turned 100 a couple of weeks earlier. He's a former B-26 ground crew, serving in England, France, and Germany 1944-1945. He drove himself to the airport! Shown here with his son, also Bill, on the left.

And a few other photos from the year in review...

I had one one-way passenger-

Dewey (http://www.gobiplanerides.com) and I did an air to air photo shoot with photographer Greg Morehead over Dewey's home base near Dayton, Ohio

And finally, applause from the passengers after landing is good!

Are you going to be at Hagerstown this year? Saw you're going to be at Springfield on July 17-18, which I unfortunately can't make due to another commitment. I'm thinking about maybe playing hooky and heading over to take a ride during the week if the weather looks good ...

Yup, planning to be at Hagerstown on Tuesday the 20th, probably will go to Oshkosh, then hopping rides at the Jasper County Fair at Rensselaer, Indiana July 29 to August 1, and the Wood County Fair in Bowling Green, Ohio August 5-8.
