Well... think you are now mixing the two different airplanes together that we are talking about. N666TX is a D model. If you look at the picture I posted it still has the D model cowling, gear legs and tail.[/quote]

Oooops! Given what Steve said about maintaining a G and Ober's comment
on his fmr birds conversion, I'd assumed N666TX had been converted
since your photo, my bad. I should have looked for a current photo. Thanks
for the correction Dan.

Well thank's everybody for the input. I did see the photo's Airnutz, thank U. I would definetly like to get a print of that. And yes it's a "D" model , thank U for clarifying that up Dan. It has not been converted by Younkin.
I was not paying attention to my data plate. It was built in 44. But a bit of sad news, we lost the engine yesterday but landed safely in Stephenville,Tx.We went down to pull the engine and have another on order!

Found the data plate, but the mystery continues. Bu# is 23746 which lies in a block that was transfered from the navy to the air force, but the individual bu # does not come up. Lynn when the GB left it went to Arkansas for Yonkin to do the conversion. He just did the sheet metal work then sold it for completion of the restoration. Maybe it is in Oregon, left coast anyway. Fabulous looking bird. When God invented airplanes thats what he wanted them to look like.

Usually I'm on the warbird site but since the guy whose Mustang and T-6 I take care of just bought a Staggerwing, I figure I better get up to speed pretty quickly. I have no maintenance manual with the plane and who out there is a good reputable parts source? Any one give me a clue? BY the way and I'm sure you'll enjoy this, I'm already tired of scraping up my arms when I had to change an Hg gage.

Chris,
You may have already checked into it but the Staggerwing Club out of TN is THE place to connect. I was a member of the club for a few years as an enthusiast and when I was working on a Staggerwing. Parts, manuals and guideance should flow well from the club.

Hope that helps.
