Wait, does the new paint scheme use bare metal or silver paint? 'Cause I'm going to be really disappointed if it's the latter. :(

Actually, looking back, I'm already disappointed.

It's paint, since every 787 has to be 100% encapsulated in paint to prevent UV A & UV B degradation and AA is on the 'gimme' list for several. Their AIRBUS fleet was painted as well because the Fwench didn't seem to want to clad the outer surfaces of their skins.

The paint jobs looks so drab like a cargo plane its hideous. I think the whole making planes out of carbon fiber is dumb regardless of what is said by the FAA the tail came off that America A300 due to the carbon fiber cracking since when they found the tail all the metal bolts survived but the carbon have given way

The cause was too much design and not enough engineering, since corrected. The path to the future of aviation comes out of an autoclave so get used to it, time to park the Model T.
