steve hinton commented in the current issue of air classics magazine of the aircraft that have participated in the reno event's unlimited category total of 64 racers over the years, 1 being a b-25-j flown or sponsored by aero trader. I was flabbergasted at seeing that on the list. was it souped up?? or flown stock?? never heard of a twin engine unlimited racer for reno other than an f7f tigercat. that b-25 must have been a real odds long shot!! enlighten me!! any pics or you tubes??

Wasn't there a Martin B-26 that participated in the Cleveland Air Races?

I thought it was in the cross-country Bendix.

I do believe some A-26s have been raced from time to time. Pretty sure one was raced at Mojave, not 100% sure about Reno. I'd have to look it up.

You can enter what you want, but none have qualified that I can tell.

Of course plenty of P-38 action over the years.

Did they officially time FiFi's laps? I know they did it "as show", but I can't remember if they timed them or not "officially".

I know that there have been other planes around the pylons for show, at least one Connie, a DC-6 and DC-7, and I believe that Clay Lacy took a DC-8 around the pylons as well. Also, I'm pretty sure the Fry's 747SP made a few laps too (at a much higher than normal altitude

pond racer probly the best known twin engine reno racer

I'd say Lefty and P-38 N25Y was the best known twin Reno racer, with some of the Tigercats closing in. The Pond Racer had a very short life.....
