Jack,

Any idea what the faint markings painted evenly along the nose on "MY KATH". Mission symbols?

Also, what were the colors, black and white nose bands with olive drab upper surfaces?

top hats for top cover ie bomber escort missions and brooms for fighter sweeps. They had about 6-7 different symbols for various missions they flew.

Bob Phipps especially! He was truly a nice guy. Not many who knew
him in the 20th realized he was at PH on Dec 7th has a corporal!
