I'm certain the Duck was the result of someone playing around in a darkroom, probably at photography school.

This batch (I think there are more coming) didn't have as many plane/base pictures. There are a number of photos form Marine Photography School at Pensacola.

I'll post the pictures that seem really relevant to warbirds here and the rest on the Site I've put up for these.

Yes the RAAF stuck with the roundel but the RNZAF kept the "Bar" from the US insignia and painted the RNZAF roundel over the star. Great to see, made this Kiwi sit up straight thats for sure!!

Thanks for posting these up!

Some great shots. I particularly like the photos of the maintainers keeping them flying.

Also, funny how Navy flight log books have changed very little since WWII!

Sorry to bring this thread thread from out of no where. I was doing some research today and saw your question in regards to the patch on his jacket. That was the squadron patch of VMB-413.

Frank in a flight jacket, I'm not sure what the shamrock stood for -

Having flown in the U.S Navy on P-3 Orions, I'm a huge fan of military planes. Stationed in Jacksonville Fl. We had a huge hangar built for the P8 Poseidon.
Now I enjoy my own hangar. http://www.BerkeleyBuildings.net
