Freakin spectacular...Grunt Mojave tanker, dollar 19 diving and dumping into a valley, more P-61 shots..B-18 tanker..still my beating heart... :D

Both the Bell and the Otter behind are Canadian-registered so I'd guess this was the Ontario Provincial Air Services late '50s-early 60s experiment. I have no record of them actually owning any Bell 47s.

You are correct Wally. I included this achival pic just to give a reference to the way it all started. If I remember right, this one is on file with the USFS in their historical library. Not 100% certain, but this may be some of Bob Cameron's work.

Do you have anymore photos from Expo 86'? I was fortunate to ride along in the Salair (N3FY) bird. What an awesome sight! DC-3's off both wings, in front and behind!

I was thinking the other day it would be cool if an Expo 86' topic was started. Then I came across this thread and photo. The only shot I have from that day is me sitting in copilot seat. Sorry not trying to hijack this thread.

The pictures of the B-17's 61 & 68 at Boise were flown by Larry Hill, 61 and Bob Forbes,68. Also there that year was tanker 99, flown by Gene Akers. I'll have to get out my log books to try and remember the exact year. In the 70's though

The B-17, tanker 68 at the top of the page was photographed on the way home to Porterville from Paso Robles. Again, I'd have to check my log books as to the exact date.

The F-15, on the ramp with the B-17 is at Fresno, and refueling at Porterville was taken in either 68 or 69. As it was destroyed at Hollister in I belive either 69 or 70. Failed to get air born and ran off the end of the runway and cought fire. The pilot, Ralph Ponte was OK

What an excellent thread! Thanks for all the photos guys, and the info with them!!!!
I have been in touch with a David P.....which I hope has been lurking on the WIX site...He flew PV-2's out of Dothan, Al. for two years....He is gathering all his sprayer photos from back in the 60's, and has promised to send the collection on a CD....I will ask if I can share them here, or if he will do it.
