Can anyone help me to correctly identify the aircraft in this photo? I believe that the one in the front is a Douglas C-124 Globemaster II and that the one behind might be a B-29? But want to make sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!! Melanie

You are correct in that the aircraft in foreground is a Douglas C-124. Aircraft in the background is a Boeing C-97, which was derived from the basic B-29 design. Thanks for posting

Hello again,

Would any of you kind folks be able to identify the airbase in these photographs? I am thinking it might be France, only because I know the officer was stationed there...and the 35mm slides are made in France...but they could be anywhere. I haven't had much luck identifying it myself. Thanks again so much. :)

Mel
