Seen it before--that would definitely scare the living crap outta me!

Some of the Army guys may be able to answer this though; doesn't a missile have to fly a certain distance before it arms? I know a 40mm grenade has to fly 10m before it arms itself, otherwise it's just a 40mm slug.

I know a LLAW didn't have a minimum range. But they do need some space to pick up speed and so are ineffective inside maybe 25 meters. The 40mm has to spin a certain number of times before it arms, otherwise it will kill the shooter. But they make a shotgun shell for those snuggly moments, and of cousrse the m203 is hanging below an M16, so you can always go 3 round burst if you are that close.
