I am looking for documentation on the WWII service of this ship. In particular, I would like information verifying that it did serve outside US territorial waters during the war. The ship was delivered in November of 1944, so the time period of interest in very limited.

I have a film showing that Y101 did transit the Panama Canal during the war, but seek more specific documentation regarding such use in order to help establish eligibility for veteran's benefits for a young lad who is now 90 years old.

Post-war the Y101 became the LSCO Lakundula.

Thanks, guys.
