Voodoo question

Mon Jun 23, 2008 11:29 am

So in the up coming months i should be taking the wings off of a F-101 Voodoo in Frankfort Kentucky so it can be shipped to the Air Museum in Lexington. But where can i obtain maintaince manuals on how to remove the wings properly?? And since its a military jet do they have them online?

well to my dissapointment i see that someone else was hired. But it looks like it was a tough job. They just cut right threw the wings meaning all the bolts heads were corroded so baddly they cut off the heads then used some sort of skill saw to cut all the wire harnesses and hose lines. The company Duncan is the one who shipped it. But i can see part of the fuselage in the rear has been crushed a little. I will try to get pics. Oh and this is a RF-101. If anyone cares to know.

Sad to hear another historic airframe has been cut apart. If they ahve any cockpit items they want rid of I need some spares for my panel project... :)

Isn't it typical, you have an important piece of history to move and conserve and someone goes to "Day Labor' and hires a bunch of otherwise unemployable clods with crowbars who only understand 'blue tip wrench'
