Any help finding this will be much appreciated! (Stearman)

Good day,
First time poster, so, hi.

I had a mic switch fall apart in the rear cockpit of a Stearman I fly sometimes. I robbed the identical switch out of the front to keep it going, but I'm getting tired of reaching ahead to slap the passenger in front of me.

The issue is, that the stick grips in this particular stearman aren't stock, and I have no idea what they're originally from. I've been told possibly a BT-13 or SNJ/T-6/Harvard, but I've never seen anything similar yet. There's not a lot of BT's up here and the 2 Harvards I've seen had something completely different, both from the Stearman and each other.

I realize I could just change the grip to something different or whatever but I want to try to get this thing back to the way it was, as the grip has a slot cut in it for a switch this exact size.

The switch itself is a momentary double-throw type, up for T/X down for I/C.

I'm going to try to post pics, but I'm a complete message board "newb", so bare with me.

Thanks in advance for any info/help. I am a member of the SRA too, but I just thought I'd try this first, as the grips aren't original Stearman in the first place. Image[/img]

Sigh,
I guess I'm also looking for help posting pics.
I guess we'll start with that and move on to the switch at a later date pending successful pic-posting training.

If you can email the picture to me (the button below my signature) I’ll post the picture for you.

You never know, I might even have what you’re looking for since I’ve been rooting through boxes on stuff in the hangar this weekend!

Hey Bones, welcome to our family. Love your tag line. Surely you are familiar with the definition of torque? Tighten until it breaks and back off a 1/4 turn? 8)

Yeah buddy, pretty much how I've lived my life up until this point. All these fancy-pants mechanics with their "wrench sets" and their "12-point" this and "calibrated" that, they should stay in school.

All's you need is a screwdriver, pliers, a hammer and duct tape.

And for all you pilots out there, if a J-3 doesn't have it, you DON'T NEED IT!

The definition of "proper torque" I've always told my apprentices is to tighten it until it starts to get loose, then back it off a smidge. I think we come from the same school, "sdennison". 8)

And thanks B-W, I'll check that site right now. I'll post on here if/when I find everything so that everyone can relax, haha.

Thanks again guys,
Ted.
