Fifi is off Cover street near Paramount, north side of Long Beach Airport. You don't have to be there for the Aopa convention if you just want to see the airplane displays. Drove by last night after the EAA meeting, even in the dark, and seeing basically a big four engine silhouette, warbirds are just cool! Will get over there on sunday.

I was blessed to be able to make the trip with "FIFI" and crew to Long Beach and Phoenix...... Three names that I want to mention..... Toni Mensching (AOPA at Long Beach), and Ryan Keough and Rick Senffner at Phoenix with Cutter Aviation and the CAF Arizona Wing! You guys and girls made us feel at home......There were over 5,000 visitors who welcomed us at the Deer Valley stop as we taxied in (Long Beach was not far behind in numbers!)...... and there was also a little race happening (in Phoenix) that weekend by the Nascar gearheads! What a blessing at both stops.... truly.... the weather was great and the people were even better! At both stops as the flight engineer was shutting down the engines you HEARD the crowd cheering, yelling, and whistling...... In my mind I was thinking "for us?", but yes it was........ almost indescribable.
In addition, our flight crew and squadron team members were the best...... I give a tip of the hat to all! Alan

Crew in place, with the B-29 heading across the pacific......
I look at a couple of these pictures and in my mind I attempt to go back 65 years........... giving just a glimpse of the past...

We also had some friends along the way........ Long Beach

Cool shots..

Found one taken from the 330th BG's nose back in July 1945 somewhere between Guam and Japan.

Until our tour schedule is set, we don't know. The airplane will be based at Addison until further notice.
Remember, rigid flexability.

"FIFI" and Ol' 927 have been inside during the weather in the Dallas area. Dave and Rick are deeeep into the annual inspection process of the B-29. Our first appearance this year will be in early April. Look for a release of all of our confirmed appearances for both airplanes later this month.

Once "FIFI" has been completed Dave and Rick will turn to the annual on Ol' 927 she should be done in early May at the latest. You can visit our ladies at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum 7 days a week. During the weekends, we have volunteers that come out and will provide cockpit tours for a small donation.

We are putting the final touches on a new website where you will be able to track what is happening with our airplanes. Hopefully that will launch in the next week or two.

One of our members is very good when it comes to video editing, I currently have him preparing a number of videos that I will post links to when they are done! Wait until you see some of the completed products....if it doesn't make you run out and throw money at us or buy a ride in one of our girls nothing will. :D

Just saw a post that the engine that went to Rare Bear is now on FiFi. Yes/No?
