Agree, that looks like Tom. He's a great stick. Had the pleasure of flying behind him in the R4D more than a few times. Even when he's putting it down on a shorter strip, the touchdown is smooth as silk. All those years flying tin cans for American certainly show.

Well......I'm a nobody here, you guys certainly know more than I, but I was there in person in Marion, IL, flew on FIFI, Neils Agather was our co-pilot and I'm pretty sure the pic I posted was him. Saw him closeup before and after the flight.

Really doesn't matter though, CAUSE I FLEW ON FIFI!!!!!!

Prope Dome. As B-29 FE said, That is Neils Agather, your co-pilot, in the flight suit. Tom Travis, who had already taken
off his flight suit, (His flight suit is in his hands) is standing beside him. The other person in the flight suit is Gene Dickinson,
who was your left Scanner in photo #7, the Previous photo.

Tom was a really nice guy, so was Gene and our right scanner. I'll see if I have a pic of our right scanner.

Great photos! As someone who is studying to be a scanner on the B-29 "Doc" its good to see some scanners on the job (even manning the APU). I bet it was the most memorable ride of your life!

Thanks Jeremy,

To say that it was the ride of a lifetime is a definite under statement.

Although the front is the best seat, sitting in the back with the scanners was fascinating.
Extremely important job. Every single aspect of the flight the scanners were going through
their checklists and mostly looking out the windows, flaps, engines, etc. Once the engines
started conversation was impossible so one or the other would bang on the floor to get the
others attention and then do a thumbs up or down. Only saw a thumbs down once and then
quickly it was a thumbs up. WHEW!

Good luck on the scanner thing. I'm envious, YOU are going to have the "rides" of a lifetime.
I've been following the Doc thread, really exciting. Can't wait for the first flight. Maybe we'll go
for a ride with you!

If you want pm me your email and I'll send you some short videos of the flight.

All the best and Merry Christmas,

Brian

Nice video. Love the formation flying and missing man formation with FIFI and the three B-25's. I think the B-25 is one of the best looking bombers ever made.

Just come north out of Prescott on Highway 89, turn right at the traffic light onto Mac Curdy Drive (The airport entrance). Go past the golf course on the right and you will see the entrance gate on your right. Park in the "EVENT PARKING" lot. Get out of your car and walk north towards the aircraft. I will be at the gray "Tent" to collect your money, which helps us keep FIFI flying.

Saw FiFi in Napa Calif yesterday. Hadn't seen her since sometime in the mid late 80s (86, or 87) in Enid Oklahoma when I was a teenager visiting relatives.

She looked good! Better than when I last saw her. The crew was great to talk with. No $$$ for a ride, but I dropped some extra cash in the donation bucket.

Hopefully its' not another 20+ years till I see her again. Hopefully Diamond Lil makes it out to the West Coast next year!

Charlie
