Post subject: | Curtiss Reed prop wanted |
Hi there. Anyone have a lead on an airworthy or potentially airworthy Curtiss Reed fixed pitch prop at approx 94" diameter. It is to suit a "C" model Staggerwing with a Jake but as I understand it it is the same as used on some of the Waco's. Cheers |

These are very scarce and expensive in the US. I see these most commonly on Wacos so you might want to try some of those folks. |

We'll keep on trying and see if we can hunt one down, and will definately try some Waco folk and see what surfaces. Thanks |

Do you know what model Curtiss Reed? I think there might be a "square" hub Curtiss Reed left over From Halterman Aviation's inventory at Creve Coeur Airport here in St. Louis. I have not seen it for a few years but I can look for it this weekend. As I recall it was at least 94" but I do not know if it's the right model for the early Jake powered Staggerwing. |

I see Al Jr. corrected the spelling. Good job! It is Curtiss-Reed. I sell the manuals for them if needed. Expect to pay in the $8000-10,000 range for one. The longer it is the more expensive! |
