A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

I do have the manual for the BC-375-C, so if I make a dummy up of one, I can certainly put a proper plate on it!

Sounds good. I'll talk to you via e-mail about it here around Christmas.

I just finished reading this thread and I think we're through the initial tension! I will stay out of this and defer to Don on the positioning and looks of this project. I know in the end it will work out and be something we are all proud of. Just so you know, I have more radio stuff here in Midland if you are looking for something specific. Let me know.

I may have to find a way to make another trip then and just see what's there and inventory it. I need an excuse to dig into the manual library anyway. :)

Just be sure to call me right after you hang up with Scott. :) I don't want to miss that one if I don't have to. :)

Well, after a period of inactivity due to work and other factors, I have been able to spend a little more time on this and make some decisions. In addition, I've encountered a bit of a slow-down as I have been informed I will be spending the last week of this month and most of next month in Kansas on a contract work assignment.

I have e-mailed Robbie with the specific information on what I have decided upon in consultation with Dave Miller & Don Obreiter. Once I receive a reply on that and his information, I will be sending the units to him that I have and need modification or replacement. Those units will form the basis of the installation. From there, I will travel to Midland in early March and get an inventory of what we have there to make additional decisions on what is available versus what we believe would be appropriate for a pre-1942 B-24A radio installation. I will at minimum install the new table (which I have drawn out and only need to fabricate) with the modified BC-348 receiver in March and hope to have the installation as complete as possible for Sun'N'Fun in April.

I'm happy to see this project hopefully moving forward again.
