Hi All, I have an interesting question I've been pondering on for a while now :D I've searched ebay continuously for months and never see any used clecos up for sale...they are always new ones. Is this a testament to their longevity or is it something that people just throw out or pass on when finished? Is their a place you can buy them secondhand?

The reason i'm asking is that in starting to assemble various panels on my Boomer it has got to that point where I'm going to need them; and was trying to stretch the ever dwindling $$$ to maximum per buck and thought secondhand might be a better option.

Look forward to your thoughts,
Chris

Consider this a blessing in disguise.

Years ago, I bought many hundreds of used clecos off ebay. Almost all of them were junk, even them ones described as "near new". Heavily rusted, bent, worn jaws, packed with sealant, etc.

Even had some that were the wrong color.

They're pretty durable if you keep the sealant cleaned off of them; the main problem I had was loaning them to other mechanics and never getting them back!

PS You can't ever have too many clecos!

They have gone up recently, but Pan American Tool had really good prices on new ones.

The Yard Store probably gets thiers from Spirit AeroSystems Surplus store. Probably just cheaper to get them there if you know someone in Wichita. They have a whole area of used air tools at Spirit surplus.
