I was under the impression that AvGas burns cooler than regular gas? It certainly burns slower.

& to add to my post above about 100LL in my bike:
I had one of those Prius rip offs run up my exhaust pipe for about 25 miles on a freeway a few weeks ago. I'd like to think that I coated his car with enough lead to counteract any benefit his car made have made to ridding the planet of pollution for the entire life of his car

In college, I ran a 1970s Datsun B210 for several months on old 130 octane avgas. The FBO wanted to switch the storage tank to 100LL, so the gas was free. I beat the heck out of that car because I was going to junk it upon graduation and entering the USAF.

Never noticed any adverse effects, even after taking it up through the apple orchards and getting it airborne a few times. One tough little car that refused to quit.
