have him read my post under AIR RACING and GENERAL AVIATION under 'LAX-747 ingests cargo container' then, place a single NAS 602 screw in his hand and tell him he's holding a $14 million dollar jet engine, just toss it in the inlet and see for himself. I cannot tolerate morons of any stripe or rank around 'power on' aircraft. I had far too many idiots turn up under a 727 on jacks during gear swings, bitching about all the danged CAUTION tape wrapped around the jacks and that anti collision light being on, I'd tell them to 'stay right there and I'll send 1500 pounds of strut, wheels, and brakes through them'.
Saw a very tiny female mechanic run behind a running 767 at the tail and get sent a$$ over teakettle down the ramp in the exhaust wake, watched small birds go into the inlets on high power runs, seeing people standing in the track of a turning propeller etc. etc. I don't care who you are or what your rank in the organization, if you see a potential disaster about to happen, step in and prevent it PLEASE safety is no accident!! Any boss with half a brain wouldn't dare chew you out for preventing an accident, if they do they are very dense or very stupid.

Or perhaps mandatory viewing of the sailor who gets sucked into the Intruder engine for all those who work the ramp! He actually lived to talk about it! Crazy!!!!

Was that on the 'E'? I worked with a guy @ Badwrench who saw the very same thing happen. The guy got out the back side, realized what he'd just done, and became a sack of silly putty and collapsed on the flight deck-

Lots of stuff like that from the Navy. Saw videos of F-4's landing on a carrier and chopping people in two, cables chopping people in two, people ejecting int he hanger deck, etc, etc.

Even when everything seems to be working right and people are following the rules..."Stuff" Happens! Keep your head on a swivel and be careful out there folks! Especially on a flight deck!!! Goes double! (No wonder my cousin got out after one tour hustling bombs on a flight deck...said it wasn't for him!)

I AGREE, MY MAIN OBJECTIVE IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN, TO FINISH MY CAREER IN THIS BUSINESS AND RETIRE WITHOUT EVER HAVING CAUSED ANYONE IN ANY AIRCRAFT I'VE WORKED ON TO SUFFER MORE THAN A HANGNAIL
