Eric, it's great to see the progress you're making and to get some new shots of the AT-11. What are your plans with the glazing for it, do you have it all or is that a search to do?

AviationArtist,

The search is on for the Glazing. I think the I have the bottom right side but that is it. I'm also looking for any bombbay parts and other interior parts.

If you know someone with a pizza store with a brick oven, you can make your own glass by fabbing molds and 'blowing' them in the very warm oven like blister windows on seaplanes. That's how customizers make free blown canopies for radical hot rods like Roths 'Beatnik Bandit'.

Inspector,

Thanks for the tip on making the glass. I will try to do this, if I can't find it. I do have the RH bottom glass with the small door in it. It is NOS but I have to clean it up. I will post pics.

Have been working on small items for the interior. And I have also put the nose skin in place to fit it up, and help with fitting items for the inside.

The new plan is to switch over and Start working on the AT-11 more. I'm going to start it's own thread.

Man, you are jammin' on that! And it looks really nice.
the vertical looks to me like standard model 18 less the tablecloth.

The vertical is the tail for the AT-11. The cowling section sitting on the RH firewall area is for the AT-11 also. The N876 is a tail section from another 18 that I got for parts.

The SNB-5 is going up for sale. The funds raised from it will go to getting the AT-11 down from NY. We only have room in the hanger for one project, so the AT-11 is the one. I think everyone here will understand why this decision was made. I wish we didn't have to let the SNB go.

Also to raise funds for the AT-11. I have put other items up for sale on the website. http://www.projectwarbird.com

Bump!!!

Eric,
The statistics shown on your profile page say you haven't even logged on to WIX in about a year and a half and it has been even longer than that since you posted an update on either one of your Beech 18 projects - the original SNB-5 restoration or the AT-11 that you said would supplant it. Are you still working on either one?

I hope so because I was living vicariously through this thread, wishing that I was involved in something like that - or that I lived closer to Asheville!

FYI: found his AT-11 resto project thread here:
http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=43747
but it hasn't had an update (besides my recent "bump") since January 2012 either...

All the best...

Hey everyone,
It's been a long time since I have posted anything. Do to life's little turns in the road I have had to let things go and find new things to do. The SNB was sold and is now in Colorado, the AT-11 ended up going to Baltimore. I had to move and down size my shop. But I'm not out of the warbird adventures. I have a new web site up www.projectwarbird.com, (still a work in progress) and have new projects. I will be posting about them. I'm not going to let life stop me from trying to help save as many historical aircraft as I can. Please check out the web site. I have a lot of parts for sale to support the projects.

Thanks
