Don't see why they would. If it were a Kaman helicopter we were working on Im sure that'd be different.

Frank,
I'll ,go with Chris on that one. I understand where your coming from, trying to get Connecticut companies to help our and if we can lay our hands on a Husky than I would hope they would consider some support. In my design for our (Hopefully very Soon) visitors center, I have made sure to include Kaman and his contributions to the aviation community.

If anyone inclined to donate or knows anyone who might be interested they can do so via paypal -
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=F5G2CA5K5BTNC
or a check can be sent to:
Connecticut Air & Space Center
For the S-60 Restoration
Sniffens Lane/P.O.Box 1293
Stratford, CT 06615-1293

Lastly if you would like a T-shirt, Warbird Wear will donate a percentage to go back to funding the restoration of this historic bird.

the only reason i ask of kaman is that one time my father dealt with them,( over pt boats.) They had a packard engine sitting in the yard. My father befriended them and they help him to have it. They used cranes and everything and couldn't have been nicer, all for free. Never hurts to ask but if you feel that their tied up i understand

The Connecticut Air and Space Center's representative, Charlie Vesterman, Project Director of the S-60, attended the Orlando Helicopter Expo thanks to some tickets I arranged from my friends at Erickson. Charlie was able to do quite a bit of networking and the guys from Erickson are really nice guys. Charlie is a Sikorsky retiree and worked on the Skycrane as a line chief.

Moral of the story here is to get out and talk to people, you never know who you will meet or where it will lead.

Drew, did you catch the latest about HAI at KOSH this July?

http://www.airventure.org/news/2011/110309_hai.html

(Who woulda' thought flingwings would get this much attention? )

Of course, once you attend you'll be jaded for life...might as well just move the whole S-60 project to the upper midwest. :axe:

Work Continues on the S-60. The major part of the current efforts have been going into going over blueprints and creating an attack plan. The main spar from the 56 that have is being used to fix the broken spar from the S-60. Much work on removing her spar has been going on behind closed doors.

Actually, Kaman might not be a bad one to seek some assistance from, since they are currently partners with Sikorsky and build the cockpit sections of the Black Hawk!

This past week marks an important milestone. The sucessful first public appearance of the S-60 Crew Cab at the 2011 Wings&Wheels Airshow at Sikorsky Memorial Airport. Charlie Vesterman and Bill Fickes have been working hard to make visible progress on the project. Our new shop painter Otis is planning on refinishing some of the large covers from the mid section that were not damaged in the accident so as soon as the process starts Ill have photos available.

Love my first visit to the CASC on Saturday. Great group of mission-minded individuals who love their work. Let me know how I can contribute to the restoration of the s-60, as I will be moving about 11.5 hours closer to Connecticut in a couple months.

Dan
