We are still continuing to develop grants, most recently 60k from the Town of Stratford. Once all the papers are signed, issues negotiated (there is always other stuff) and we have the roof starting to go on there will be lots of photos and updates.

Just a quick update. The engine was finally painted last night. Volunteer Matt Lugo spent 2 hours making it look good. The 2800 has so many nooks and crannies to get color on. Tim Benson, seen below is managing the rebuild team. Well salvage recovery is more like it but he is doing a great job. If you have an old B series R-2800 Carb that will fit her and you don't need it please let me know.

FYI The Cylinder heads are not as shinny as the photo looks, this was before a flat coat. .

Chad Ezell hooked me up with a pair of new B series caps so I was able to color match with a special paint camera & scanner to match the paint as close as possible.

Hey Everyone!

Progress has slowed since the car show. Since there are no pictures from the event on this thread, I'll add them here.

More recently in Nov / Dec we've been in "Area 53" less due to the weather and holiday season. Work has continued on installing smaller assemblies in the cockpit.

One of the rudder pedals fitted temporarly. Pretty cool!

New lock brackets that hold attachment points on the lower oil cooler panel assembly.

The Support Oil Cooler Panel Bracer is a unique and somewhat difficult piece to make. We needed two of them. So my dad (being the machinist that he is) took up the task and did what he used to do in that plant over 16 years ago when it was Avco Lycoming. After a couple of weeks of boring out and then, fine tuning, they we're completed. Impressive in my book.

Engine has also been repainted due to an error in the color of the paint.
