Last weekend i was lucky enough to collect a Link Trainer which has been dry stored in a barn for the last 15 years.
She has pretty much most of her systems but is missing the wings ,rudder, Instruments,Desk and a few small pieces.
Can any one help in the way of scanned copies of manuals or wiring diagrams for the c3 / ant18 version or any help in general relating to one of these models as i mainly work on jets so this is a new one on me but im sure i could get it up and running with some time spent on her.
Look forward to hearing from anyone else who is restoring one as well or any leads on any parts or manuals etc.
My email is swinny74 at hotmail.co.uk (replace the at with @ )
Many thanks in advance
Darren

That looks like a cool project. Can't help with any info, but please keep us up to date on your progress.

I don't have manuals scanned in, yet. We have a TON of link trainer manuals, documents, parts, etc. PM me and we'll start some dialogue.

good luck in finding the desk, let alone moving it. the desk top is about the size of an aircraft carrier!!! i was at an aviation auction some years back & saw a complete link w/ desk, etc, sans restoration go for well under a thousand bucks because of the sheer size & bulk of the unit in getting it out of the building. i'll be in touch on the couple of link instruments i have after the 1st of the year. happy new year!!

Thanks guys for the replies.
B-25 pm sent and tom look forward to hearing from you in new year.
At the moment i have been stripping the interior of the fuselage ready for sanding down then a fresh coat of varnish.
In between that i have started restoring various parts as everything inside seems to have been sprayed a greyish colour at some point of it life so a total strip of everything is being done .
But so far apart from a couple of broken springs on the rough air simulator thats about it.
Will post some updated pics later on :)

I have some ex-RAF instruments marked Link Trainer Use Only in the stores.
I'll have a dig through next time I'm in there to see exactly what ones I have and report back.

You may want to check with these folks and see if they have some parts you may need:

I am involved in a link trainer restoration project. It has sat outside for several years under a tarp.
As you may imagine it is not in very good condition. This project is located at the Niagara Falls canada military museum. We have very little documentation and would appreciate any helpful links. What we need most at the present are some assembly drawings. The wood is pretty well rotted out and needs to be replaced. At present it is a sorry sight.
thank you for any help
alex

Our restoration has been slowed down to a near stop due to some disagreements between the owner of the link and the museum. Hopefully it will be favorably resolved before too long. We do need manuals if we are to proceed. Any help in this regard would surely be appreciated.
