Does anyone know of a potential source of Pratt and Whitney R1830-45 engines suitable for static display in the Hudson Mk VI Restoration that we are working on at the National Air Force Museum of Canada.

We have one engine in display-able condition but need a second one. The dash number may not be a factor.

We will also require suitable props and engine mounts.

This will be a long term project.

We would appreciate any leads that you might have.

Thanks.

Thanks ZRX61.

I assume that there has been a company name change as I can find Hechter Aircraft LLC at www.warbirdengines.com.

Thanks for the lead.

Thanks andyman64 and The Inspector. I have been in touch with Hechter and have received an estimated cost from them.

I was considering Basler as they must be creating a bunch of spare parts with their Oshkosh operation. It is worth a call.

I have some other feelers out and I will delay contacting Basler until I have a response from the others.

As for the engine mount problem: we have an offer of one we could copy and we have received micro film copies of the original drawings from the Smithsonian. I have not had a chance to wade through them yet.

Thanks for your help.

Good luck with looking through the micro films, I was the one that got them for ACAM there are thousands of imagines there, I started to make a quick reference of what was one each reel, I believe there may still be the proper engine mount at murphys junk yard, there was a tower biult out of them but he had scraped B24s and both types of Hudson with the different mounts, it is where the navigators seat came from with the cracked leg or bracket.and Yagi antenna .
