Dear Fairchild 24 operators / crew / enthusiasts ;).

I have a question regarding a Fairchild 24 165Hp to 200Hp conversion
We operate a Fairchild 24R9 with a 165hp engine, but during the years to get it back to serviceable and in the end airworthy condition I’m running into mechanical problems with the engine, and particularity the history of the 165hp ranger engine.
Due to the fact that the Fairchild 24R9 airframe incorporates also the engine mount,
I have been searching for someone who knows about a conversion from a 165hp to a 200hp configuration, and or if the airframe itself (p/n maybe) are the same for a 165hp ranger and a 200hp ranger configuration.

Hi Corn Cob
I have a 43 UC-61K with 200 HP Ranger.
your earlier model can accept the 200 HP, but accessories may be a problem. Oil Cooler, Starter and other items may not fit or be interchangeable.
I would send your request to the fairchildclub website. there are MANY experts there that can give you some exact information.

Good Luck!
I would love to see pictures of your plane.
send me a PM or post them here for all to see.

Hi.
I own a 24R46 Fairchild.

I reviewed the TCDS A-706 for the Fairchild and I think you are stuck with the 165hp engine. Unless you get FAA approval for an alteration.
