Hi, We have numberous aircraft that use hydraulic or pneumatic brake bladders -- Spitfire, Hurri, Cornell, Fairchild 24, Lysander etc. It is very difficult to get replacements, and they can be very expensive -- up to $2500, for what is basically an inner-tube. That just doesn't seem right. People have been using inner tubes for a long time. Does anyone know of a place to have these made? Ideally I would like to send them specs, and have the tubes show up in reasonable time, at a reasonable price, of good quality. Dave |

Try these guys Dave. I have no idea if they can help but it appears they do that kind of work. http://www.permatyperubber.com/index.html If you have the drawings and material specs it should be pretty easy for them. Let us know how you get on. Ryan |

Spitfire brake bags are being produced in the UK by Supermarine. But will be pricey but meet the Aerospace specs as deemed by the UK CAA, http://supermarine.net http://supermarine.net/images/pdfs/WEBSTOCK.pdf |

I'm not sure about a suitable new manufacturer, however we have a few NOS brake bags and shoes for the 12 inch Spitfire main wheel. If you need any let me know. |
