Looking for Hydraulic Brake Bladder Manufacturer

Sun Dec 14, 2014 11:42 am

Hi,

We have numberous aircraft that use hydraulic or pneumatic brake bladders -- Spitfire, Hurri, Cornell, Fairchild 24, Lysander etc.

It is very difficult to get replacements, and they can be very expensive -- up to $2500, for what is basically an inner-tube.

That just doesn't seem right. People have been using inner tubes for a long time.

Does anyone know of a place to have these made? Ideally I would like to send them specs, and have the tubes show up in reasonable time, at a reasonable price, of good quality.

Dave

Try these guys Dave.

I have no idea if they can help but it appears they do that kind of work.

If you have the drawings and material specs it should be pretty easy for them. Let us know how you get on.

Spitfire brake bags are being produced in the UK by Supermarine.
But will be pricey but meet the Aerospace specs as deemed by the UK CAA,

I'm not sure about a suitable new manufacturer, however we have a few NOS brake bags and shoes for the 12 inch Spitfire main wheel. If you need any let me know.
