Hi folk's,
for those that are following along with progress on the second Halifax in Canada, you can see the latest Progress report number 56 here:

http://www.57rescuecanada.com/

You can also follow the progress in the Rebuild shop and see the work ongoing to build a brand new main spar for the Halifax.

Interesting. I didn't know they were already working on components. Great to see another one is going to rise from the ashes.

Sounds exciting, but, the website does not really tell me much about the aircraft other than it was ditched. Do they have it? If not, what are they working on?

From what I can gather, they do not have the aircraft yet, it is still has to be raised. They are, however, rebuilding the spars from a Hastings, which used the same components. This way they are ahead of the game when the airframe is retrieved.

Correct .. new spar caps where made and the other spar parts are being reused where possible or used as templates to make new parts for the Halifax centre section. They have enough material to make a second main spar if another group happens to want to build one.
