Hi All,

Long time lurker first time poster.

I am looking down the barrel of acquiring a Mk IV Auster, it's in need of significant restoration and essentially needs a left wing as it is damaged beyond repair. Does anybody here know whether there is much interchangeability between models in terms of Auster wings or whether they pop up on the used parts market semi regularly?

Cheers!

There is an Auster rebuilder on here who is a fellow Kiwi - username avenger2504. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear from you and get you in touch with other Austerites. Good luck to you!

Thanks kiwizac will reach out to him/her.
They're not the fastest, most graceful or loudest, but they are still beautiful in their own unique way that is for sure!

Definitely a he  His name's Barry.

Austers are neat machines, I've only seen a handful in person. Good luck!

Hi Andrew. Where abouts are you? There are similarities between Auster wings but also differences. The IV is pretty straight forward as no wing tanks so just ribs, spars and the flaps. Whole wings can be a problem to find but a friend of mine just bought some MK6 wings which you could modify for the IV. One MK 6 rebuilder ended up with two left wings! But modified one to a right so problem solved.
Anything can be solved if you throw money and time at it!
