I work for a company that is restoring a P-38L-5-LO and we are looking at having to recreate the BOM from scratch. Do any of you know where one might be? Even for a different model?

BOM's are created off of individual drawings. About the only way you will end up with one is to create it working backwards.... IPC to drawing then drawing to BOM. Unless you are planning on duplicating every single part, why expend the effort?. Way easier to copy the BOM data as needed from specific drawings. There are some items that are make from's and will cause to do treed BOMs.

Because we are duplicating every single part. Well not really, but we use the BOM along with our companies proprietary inventory control software to track everything. Not to mention I need the BOM to track which parts I need to model in CADD for fabrication. If my company needs to invest several hundred hours building a BOM manually, we are prepared to do so. It's just cheaper to buy a finished one from some one who has already done the work. We've already done as much for P-51 and P-47. But we will do anything we can to save time in the process, even if it's just finding a parts list with descriptions that are already digitized we can import.

Also, there are no BOMs on the drawings, they have parts called out with arrows, but no tables of parts or quantities.

If anyone has got that information it would be Westpac Restorations. They built the P-38F "White 33" (now completed/flying) just about from scratch and they have a P-38J they've restored from the ground-up (nearing completion/to-fly perhaps next year), among other P-38 projects/work.
