Dakota FZ668 restoration - Help requested

Mon Sep 24, 2018 8:51 am

Hello

We need your help. We are a Canadian based not for profit organization. We have found a new home for the Dakota C/N 12253, ex RAF 271 Squadron FZ668, a place where we will be able to stay all years we require to complete the restoration to airworthy status and where we can setup a permanent workshop. We have to relocate our Dakota before winter and, to succeed we are calling upon your generosity.

The cost to disassemble and to move the aircraft is huge and even insurances required to complete this milestone are a burden. The history of our airplane is on our website, https://www.avialogs.aero

We do not claim our aircraft led the D-Day but her historical importance could not be denied. 17 men jumped over DZ "K" at 0h50 on June 6th from her, more than 100 war missions completed, Market-Garden where she was flying wing to wing with F/L David Lord, DFC, VC and F/L Jimmy "Professor" Edwards. Thousands of lives saved during ambulance flights. This can not be forgotten and this is why we want to restore FZ668 to airworthy status. Without your help, it will stay a wish, a dream. If you can not donate, please share this message and help to make this project happen.

We also want to honor men and women who flew on board during the second world war. We have identified many of them but we are looking for more information, biography, photos, etc. You can find a list of them here:

Thank you,
